For our site in Vlaardingen, we are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will take the day-to-day operations of Madern International B.V. and AJB Instrument B.V. to the next level.

What we are looking for:

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree level, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or (Technical) Business Administration.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a technical engineering, machinery manufacturing, or production environment.
  • You have knowledge of financial management and are proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • You are results-oriented, analytical, and an excellent communicator who can inspire and engage others.
  • You combine a hands-on leadership style with strategic insight and a keen focus on quality.

About your role as a Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Production, Work Preparation, Calculation, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics departments. You ensure that these departments operate as one well-coordinated and efficient organization, delivering excellence in quality, productivity, safety, and cost performance. As a member of the Operational Management Team, you contribute from a strategic perspective and translate business objectives into clear operational plans, taking ownership of execution and monitoring progress against agreed targets. You are a driver of continuous improvement, focusing on reducing lead times, increasing delivery reliability, lowering operational costs, and strengthening the company's safety culture. You coach and motivate team leaders and employees, conduct annual performance reviews, and embed a culture of continuous improvement as a fundamental part of the organization’s way of working.

Your responsibilities as a Operations Manager

  • Define the strategy for your departments in collaboration with the Managing Directors and Management Team, and translate this into a clear and actionable operational plan.
  • Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs, with a strong focus on quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and evaluate team leaders and employees to drive high performance and engagement.
  • Ensure a safe, efficient, and well-organized working environment, promoting compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, the quality management system, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage and optimize the end-to-end supply chain, from supplier performance through to customer delivery.
