What we are looking for:

  • You have a completed bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or industrial automation.
  • You have a couple of years of relevant work experience as a PLC engineer or something similar.
  • You are experienced in programming and commissioning controlling machines and logistics systems.
  • You have experience with Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley.
  • You are knowledgeable about safety systems, frequency controllers, servo drives, and bus systems (Profibus and Profinet).
  • You are enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You have strong analytical skills, a flexible mentality, and a customer-oriented focus.
  • You are result-oriented and have strong perseverance.
  • You are proficient in Dutch and English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of German is a plus.

About your role as a Lead PLC / Controls Engineer

As a lead controls engineer, you'll handle the software and controls for our systems. You'll team up with a project manager, hardware engineer, mechanical engineer, and robotics software engineer to create the best system solutions. During the project’s definition phase, you'll work together to set the system specs. Then, you'll develop and test the software in Raamsdonksveer. After installation, you'll travel worldwide to commission the system with the lead installation engineer. You’ll stay on top of the latest market trends and motivate your team to incorporate these innovations.

Your responsibilities as a Lead PLC / Controls Engineer

  • Perform and carry out field technical support.
  • Conduct installation and commissioning of machines and tooling.
  • Collaborate with the overseas team to support customer service activities in Asia.
  • Execute planned preventive maintenance, emergency callouts, repairs, upgrades, and provide telephone and email support to customers.
  • Offer application software support.
  • Liaise with the factory in Europe to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide pre-sale technical support.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects assigned by management.
  • Conduct product application or technical training for customers.
